"Judy, Registered nurse & son Justin"

My son & I began Chiropractic services in October 1999. He had Stage I scoliosis with curvatures in the thoracic & lumbar spine. I had neck & back problems which I had suffered with for many years. My pain had become so severe over the last year that I had been taking pain medication almost every day.

I feel we have both made tremendous progress since we began treatment with Dr. Tolopka. My son has shown marked improvement. He is now straight and with regular exercise at home, prescribed by Dr. Tolopka, and chiropractic, he can continue to be as active as any eleven year old. Until I learned Chiropractic could help him, his future would have been one of back braces and possibly insertion of surgical rods in his back. I am so grateful for this alternative treatment.

I have seen an improvement in my neck & back since I began Chiropractic treatment. There is such a noticeable difference in the amount, frequency and severity of my pain. Again, I didn't realize how Chiropractic could help me. I have found out how wrong I was! I am no longer plagued with the pain I have lived with for so many years. I have also noticed a vast improvement in my overall health. I have an autoimmune disorder and have had less fatigue and infections since I began Chiropractic care.

" ...the phone call that turned my life around."

I am a former professional violinist who sustained a major cervical spine injury in 1997. While touring with a national Broadway musical, I began experiencing pain and weakness in my upper extremities. I sought help from orthopedic surgeons, hand specialists, acupuncturists (not fun for a needle-phobic) and rehab doctors. Everyone assumed I was suffering from tendonitis. Eventually, I lost all sensation in my right hand and was forced to ask for a medical leave from the tour. I flew home to Houston, praying a three month "rest" would cure me. Doctors in Houston sent me to the Texas Institute for Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR) for evaluation and diagnosis. After going through a CT scan, myelogram, MRI and EEG, the results for not encouraging. I had 4 herniated discs in my neck, central canal spinal stenosis, and advanced spinal osteoarthritis. I was sent to a neurosurgeon who recommended multi-level spinal surgery. To make matters worse, worker's compensation decided to deny further treatment for me, because the original diagnosis was "hand injury" and not neck. I was told that my injuries were extensive and my violin career was over. It was suggested that I stop worrying about playing the violin again, and think about being able to walk in a few years. Despite passionate pleas, phone calls and multiple letters from the TIRR doctors, worker's comp refused to cover any spinal care. I reached an all time physical and emotional low, and panicked about my future. Now I had to fight a stressful legal battle, as well as fight pain without medical help. Luckily, my uncle was seeing a fabulous chiropractor, and urged me to call for a consultation. This is the phone call that turned my life around. I called Dr. Carl Tolopka in January 1998. He provided superior chiropractic care immediately, and my severe pain decreased. He thoroughly understood my spinal conditions, and aggressively helped me fight worker's comp for benefits. Dr. Tolopka gave me the vital physical and emotional support I needed to deal with pain and loss. As time passed, I was able to regain muscle strength and range of motion in my neck. With Dr. Tolopka's help, I won my battle for lifetime chiropractic care in March of 1999. I will be eternally grateful for Dr. Tolopka's concern for my welfare and willingness to spend extra time helping me. I continue to improve physically and rebuild my life. I am now taking prerequisites to enter occupational therapy school. I will feel richly blessed if I can someday help people the way Dr. Tolopka helped me.

"In one pain and full movement of my arms & head."

When I first made an appointment for treatment I had a pinched nerve in my left shoulder and constant pain and/or tightness between my shoulder blades. I couldn't turn my head from side to side without pain. I have been to doctors for several years off & on. They would tell me that my problem was from sitting at a desk and working on a computer for many years. They would prescribe muscle relaxers, anti-inflammatories and even rehab. Nothing ever solved the problem. In one week with Dr. Tolopka I had no pain and full movement of my arms and head. I can also bend over and touch the ground with no pain in my back.

"My relief came very early in my treatment."

I was having chronic neck pain. At least one episode a month of a stiff neck with sharp pain, and more frequent less severe pain. I thought that if the severe pain was not continuous then it would always go away in a few days when it does occur. After about 18 months of this, I had an episode that was intolerable. This prompted me to seek help. I came straight to Chiropractic. Due to a prior positive experience with Chiropractic, I was comfortable that this was the avenue to take. My relief came very early in my treatment. But knowing that it took a long time to develop my problem, I knew that fixing (correcting) the problem would take longer than just gaining relief. (I chose to correct the problem.)

My family is very happy with my improved disposition. Pain associated with the back and neck can affect many aspects of your life. It's good to know about the benefits of Chiropractic.

"...I immediately felt relief..."

Sixteen years ago I hurt my neck when my car hit a cement bridge. I have gone to my family physician and a physical therapist, but after treatment at Dr. Carl's office I immediately felt relief in the right side of my neck. Dr. Carl is a kind and caring person. I was referred by my sister and am glad I came.

" our visits to Fort Bend Chiropractic were great fun..."

My symptoms first began in 1988. I had severe back problems. I went to my family physician and an orthopedist. My problem was dismissed as age related. My pain level was about an 8. Dr. Carl explained that subluxations was the root cause.

My wife also had back problems and we sought help from Dr. Carl. He took command of our situations in a professional, highly competent and very friendly way. We went through the diagnosis process and were told exactly what our problems were. We then embarked on a chiropractic program.

Our back problems began to immediately improve and it wasn't very long before they all but disappeared. In addition, I had a one leg shorter than the other and it decreased immeasurably with my adjustments.

One more thing. We thought our visits to Fort Bend Chiropractic were great fun, too. And that says a lot about Dr. Carl's professional abilities as well as his personality.

Our experiences with Dr. Carl were so positive that we feel we can offer this advice: Don't suffer with problems associated with the spine. You don't have to walk around the rest of your life telling people you have a nagging back problem, or your spine is out of whack, or that it hurts to turn your neck. Se e the good doctor and watch your life change for the better fast!

"...two weeks later & I am pain free..."

I woke up one morning a couple of weeks ago with pain in my neck to find I have two bulging discs in my neck. It was very painful. I put a neck collar on & called Dr. Carl. It was a Sunday but he came into the office to give me a treatment. This is above & beyond the call of duty, but greatly appreciated. It is now two weeks later and I am pain free with almost all movement back to my neck.

Any problems I have with my neck or back have been treated successfully by Dr. Carl.

"My neck pain has been completely relieved"

As a registered nurse I have a very stressful job For many years I was having neck pain which I contributed to stress. Only when I was on vacation, having the time of my life, did I realize it was not stress.

My experience with chiropractic care has been very pleasing. It has been a wonderful experience. My neck pain has been completely relieved. What I really like is the appointments set up in advance for routine follow up. This has been a completely new way of healthcare for me. One in which I had no knowledge of until my first encounter with Dr. Carl on a phone consultation. What he said made sense to me and I have never regretted my decision.
